My response to the picture and video of kids holding “fuck the police” signs. I believe this is a necessary conversation for many reasons. We’re all so set on individuality, we fail to see what’s really going on. We are all hurting inside… Even those who express hate over our history, it’s time to heal. Let go of the politics for one day and think about this.
.
And why does this bother us, we all understand that it’s learned behavior… Now, imagine how far back down their timeline. That distrust of police didn’t just start. That’s generations of anger, betrayal, and misinformation. That’s not including the self conditioning by listening to the same angry songs repeatedly… We cannot feel sorry for the kids without understanding that somewhere down the line, someone in that family was hurt. Hurt because their cry’s for help were not heard and effects generations to come. Ignorance and stupidity isn’t evil, it’s symptoms of traumatic experiences, families that were broken and torn apart, men who were beaten, women who could not get aid for children with a man in the house. That’s the core, that’s what people are trying not to say when they generalize “stolen land”. You can’t steal land, no man owns land.. we own the space we occupy, if we’re fortunate to own such. But we’re all not taught to own anything and we’re certainly not taught how to heal our own wounds. So take that thought in mind when or if you say black lives matter or any human life… We’re all hurting and healing. Our society is failing because we fail one another. So if you every see this woman or anyone like her…. Offer your babysitter, offer her a sign that says ‘i love my momma’, stand with her and tell her you understand. Do that with the next person you know is harbouring hateful thoughts. If we’re not doing that as a society, all we’re doing is avoiding the problem. Its easier to be angry and to deal with pain and sorrow.
.
So I challenge you all, to have that conversation, with yourselves and one another.
Justice isn’t served by the law or revenge, Justice is served on a breath of air.
.
Be well
