Well, I’m rambling again.. sharing my comments from a FB post. Yeah, I know. I need to detach myself from FB but anyway… The original post was about rape, which is disgusting BTW but my reply was to a statement about an “overhaul of society”and how we mean to do that.
Can we do that? Is that a fair statement to make?

We can influence the culture of a society but to say that we mean to change society is just the same as forcing a religion on ones family, that makes us the oppressor. The tools have been in our hands the whole time yet we blame the government for our inability to function in mainstream society. But we are. The system isn’t broken, it old. We’ve learned to adapt but we’ve lost the old ways of teaching boys and girls. We’ve gotten into this me me me me not we. We say we’re community but we’re teaching the very hate we say we’re against. The TV teaches kids now and they assume that’s the way the world is.
You’ll have to forgive my preaching… So I’ll stop myself from rambling further with this quote “long is the way, up and out of darkness”. If we don’t do it with the tools we have, we are no better than those who use them against us.”

If you’ve read any of my ramblings, you know how passionate I am but that’s besides the point. Well, I don’t know if I have a damn point or why I feel it necessary to tell anyone but we all have a story to tell, right?
I was anti-government too at one time, I think I am still but I have some perspective now that I’ve grown and experienced what I have. I don’t claim to have all the answers… That would be a ridiculous assumption but I do have some insight.
Shit!!! My life wasn’t easy but there are others who’s life was and is worse but we continue fighting and learning to be better in ourselves.
We can’t keep blaming others, whether they are major contributers to the obstacles in our way or not. We have to claim this life and all of the ups and downs. Sure the government seems fucked up, so how to we make changes there. Well, let’s learn how we can take those offices ourselves. Why do senators and judges get to hold their positions longer than the president? That’s not really a democracy is it? I don’t know the first thing about being a political figure but if you told me I was worthy, I’d do my best to learn; as we all should.
Listen to me church, I know you’re mad and hurting inside… I know we all have a skewed view of religion and a healthy distrust of government but I employ you to dig deeper inside.
It’s not enough to fight for your sexual preference or identity… Find yourself, take away the names used in those religious text. The only thing that matters is your spirit. Call it The Spirit. The Human Spirit. See don’t that change your perspective and lift your heart. I’m not a Jesus freak, I don’t call myself Christian.. even though I’ve been told I’m more christian than some. Sit in meditation and feel it take stock in your life and your fellow humans.
It’s time to bring live back home.

Maybe I should find a girlfriend so I can focus on something else.
